Description
CHUTNEY occupies an important place in a quintessential Indian cuisine. Although, in terms of quantity, it subsists a very small component of the total food; in terms of adding titillation to the taste buds, it plays a very significant role. Typically, it is served in the thali at the 10 o’clock position since it is supposed to be taken in small servings. However, there are some varieties which take the place of the main vegetables!
There are innumerable recipes and there is no end to the creativity in this field!! In a very limited sense, our family is a ‘foodie’. We love eating new varieties of different cuisines. The reason for this is because my daughter’s Aie (आई) has evolved as a wonderful, self-made cook, mainly of Indian food. However, our tryst with Chutneys, or rather, all food, came up during Dilita’s forced vacation. Thus, evolved the concept of writing this book, which, hopefully could be a precursor to more books in future, with unique recipes.
I hope you will find the recipes presented here easy to make, and you will savour them.
With best wishes
